Dorsal Block
Commonly used for Osteo Arthritis of the MCP joint on the thumb.
The Dorsal Block Splint is used to create pressure on the MCP joint of the thumb when that joint begins to boutonniere and is still manually correctable.
It is used to stabilize the MCP joint of the thumb by applying pressure and holding the thumb in a more natural position. This will help with pinching and grasping.
The splint comes in two sizes; large and small and has an expansion type bracelet attached. This bracelet will anchor the splint in place will allowing for movement of the thumb.
We do not recommend this splint in cases of hypermobility or EDS.
