DS Combination Splint

The DS Combination Splint is used on the two joints of a finger, both the PIP (proximal joint - closest to the knuckles) and the DIP (distal joint - closest to the finger nail).  There is an advantage to having one splint for one finger when two splints are needed, but it is stressed that when we splint both joints with one splint, we limit the flexion (bending) of one or both joints.  To maintain current mobility in each or either joint, two separate splints are recommended.

          DS Combination Anti-Swan Neck/Anti-Boutonniere

This splint is used to limit hyper extension where the PIP (closes to the knuckle) joint wants to go past neutral or past straight at the same time limiting flexion or bending of the DIP (closes to the finger nail) joint.  This splint is only effective when both the PIP and DIP can be manually brought to a neutral (straight) position.

          DS Combination Anti-Boutonniere/Anti-Swan Neck

This splint does the opposite of the above.  It is used to limit flexion or bending of the PIP (closest to the knuckle) at the same time limiting hyper-extension of the DIP (closest to the finger nail).  This splint is only effective when both the PIP and DIP can be manually brought to a neutral position (straight).

The degree of difficulty in sizing for these splints only allows us to give two free re-sizings.  If your therapist needs to return this splint for re-sizing more than two times, then shipping charges will be applied.  Also, we cannot refund for this splint as the rings usually cannot be re-used.
